Book Covers

For those that love books, and love art, this website is awesome. The site basically appreciates book covers. One of my favorite covers is from one of my favorite authors.
P.S. Invisible Monsters is a good book too.

What is your measurement of love?

My current measurement of love: I love you more than books.

Human Tested

Not Animal Tested.Found this at a pet store at Valley Fair. Love it!

Shop Suey Boutique

I think I found the item I want to buy now that the wedding is over. It's a purse that can be used 3 different ways. I love it! It's only $58, and I have a 20% off discount. This website is awesome. It's got a lot of fancy purses for less. Shop Suey Boutique.

Mod Kitty Backpack

I love this backpack! It would be a great gift for our flower girls, but I'm not sure they'll enjoy it as much as I would. Plus, it's not really in our price range for the gifts. Either way, this is something too cute to keep to myself. I must share. =)

Farewell Pretty Bag

I'm still going to use it, because it has one strap, but I'm still very sad. I got this bag at Target and I love it! One day, I picked it up and the strap broke. I don't think Target makes these bags anymore. It's okay. I've found tons of cute bags at Etsy. I just have to wait until after the wedding. :(

Duckie

Awhile back, I came home from work and I found a new friend wandering around our house. He/she was a nice change of visitors from the huge bunnies that run across the street at night from the empty field across our house. I'm hoping he found his way to some lake.

Nervoussystem

This blog has become a hodgepodge of information. First it was about random things in my life, now it's leaning towards things that I find on the web and inspirational sort of things. Oh well. If anyone knows me, I'm pretty random and go off on tangents anyways. So why should my blog be any different?

Anyways, I found this Etsy seller, nervoussystem who sells jewelry. I especially love this unique ring that sort of twists. I also love this necklace. She's got other cute necklaces, but this one stood out to me because of all the detailing.

50 People, 1 Question

This project is sort of similar to PostSecret in the sense that it brings a bunch of people together. I love it. It's very interesting to see and hear the different reactions to the same question.

Paper Cuts

I love Julene's work. It's all hand cut. Too bad our one year anniversary already passed. This would be a great one year anniversary gift. Especially since the one year anniversary gift is Paper. I'm still considering this as my parents gift, or maybe even something for our house in the future. Here are my 2 favorites.

Thumbody

He's just asking to be on a shirt or something.
Of course, I like everything else around Mr. Thumbody, but he stood out to me.

Olivia Bee

This girl is awesome & she's only 15. She takes all self portraits and just uses a tripod. Her pictures are great. Just thought I'd share.
Click on her pics to check her out on flickr.

Zee Avi

I had such a great date with Ira last night. I've been watching this girl, Zee Avi on Youtube for about a year now and she actually got signed and her CD came out this past Tuesday. Then, she was doing a show at the Rickshaw Stop in SF. I was dying to see her, but I couldn't buy the pre-tickets online. Ira decided to do it for me so we went after work. I hate the city, so it didn't make it any better that we couldn't find parking and got lost for awhile, which made me think we were late.

Luckily we were 30 minutes early. We even got to see her come out before the show. She's actually short like me. =) Anyways, it was a great show. I even saw someone from MVA and Andres' friend. She sounds even better in person. She sang songs from her CD, did a few covers, and even played a song she only sings live. The only thing that sucked was that I couldn't see her. Everyone crowded around and stood up, so all I saw was a bunch of peoples back and the back of their head. Regardless, it was great. After the show, she came out and did a signing. We even got to take pics with her. That will be posted soon.

After the show we were pretty hungry but wanted to get out of the city. We ended up going to Santa Ramen in San Mateo. Ira has been wanting to take me there for awhile now. It was pretty yummy.

Overall, it was a great date. Very satisfied.

Zee Avi

I found this girl on youtube awhile back, and I started following her on youtube for her new songs. What caught my eye was her ukulele and how she'd play and sing but only show the guitar and her lips. Not her face. Purely so that people can hear her and not focus on what she looks like. She sings awesome! She has made me want to learn how to play from the start. Now, she's actually got a CD coming out in a few weeks. I'm pretty obsessed. I love her soulful voice. Plus, now I found out she's going to be in SF this month! $10. I hate SF, but I will suffer to go check her out! Maybe I can make our dentist appointment the same day so that we can just take the whole day off. WHOOHOO! I'm seriously very excited.

Food Proportions

I've had way too much food in one weekend.
  • Friday night - Brazilian buffet. 14 types of meat in the menu. Well, 13 because one was pineapple. =)
  • Saturday - Family Iron Chef. Each couple had to make an appetizer, entree and a dessert. That's 12 plates of food. Oh yea, plus cake for Ira's birthday.
  • Sunday - More food at the in-laws. Mmm. Enchiladas.
I must start working on proportions. That, and working out. My goal is to have a completely fit and healthy body for the wedding.

Recession?

I was driving down 880 today to meet my cousins for a night of manicures and good food for Lana's birthday. What did I happen to drive by? Someone who had just bought a new Ferrari. Needless to say, it was very pretty, and I tried to take a picture of it with my cell. But it got me thinking, if the economy is that bad, and everyone is freaking out, how did he come to the decision to even buy a new Ferrari? I came to some conclusions. Either he just put himself into major debt, the economy isn't really in a horrible situation as everyone says, or it just doesn't affect the rich as much.

Then, as I passed the Ferrari up, I came up to a Corvette! What is going on here? It's not fair that the "average" people have to suffer badly in this economy, yet the rich don't. *sigh*

Horos

Yet again, my horoscope fits perfectly for me today. Resisting definitely raises more issues. *sigh*

Leo - February 21, 2009
You may feel that others are pushing you in a direction that is not of your choosing, but resisting their efforts can raise additional issues. Nevertheless, you cannot just agree with everyone in order to minimize conflict; you'll need to make a stand now, even if you create some ripples. Stick to specific details; bringing up general concepts might sound good, but today it will only weaken your position.

Dedication

Every night, rain or shine, there are a bunch of guys playing a soccer game on the field next to our house. Lately, since it's been pouring, I've been more surprised to see them out there. Last night, after coming home in the pouring rain from Sacramento, we noticed that the lights were on at the field and that people were still out there. It really amazes me how dedicated they are at the sport. They really love and enjoy it to be out there in shorts and a shirt, despite the downpour.

Sometimes, I really wish I had that much dedication at it. I have yet to find my niche. =/

Helping

It's hard to watch someone you love very worried and not know why they're feeling the way they do. Especially when you want to help as much as possible, but you can't. I don't like feeling so helpless. Then you begin to wonder if it's your fault, that's why they're not saying anything to you. Which of course makes the feeling worse. Bah! Regardless, I still want to try and help them feel better.

Horoscopes

It's creepy how horoscopes can sometimes be too accurate. I've been having a crappy night, and I randomly decided to check my horoscope on my Google homepage. Too accurate to what's been going on this morning, that's it's kinda scary.

Leo's Horoscope
The powerful Full Moon Eclipse in your sign can explode onto the scene, stressing your relationships and temporarily turning your life upside down. You know what you want now and if anyone inadvertently stands in your way, you could prematurely go on the offense without even realizing what you have done. Keep in mind that you don't have to express every little thing you feel.
