I love art. I love coffee. Putting them together is even better. Made by a barista at Intelligentsia.

Roadtrips

Although it's raining cats & dogs, I still love road trips with people I love. Karaoking to the radio adds a special touch to the trip. Currently karaoking to: Stevie B.

Beautiful wedding. I love when couples add personal touches into their wedding. They mixed sand into a beaker, with lab goggles and all! Love it!

On a roadtrip for the weekend. Stopped by Santa Barbara just for these cupcakes from Crushcakes and a dirty chai. The cafe was closed, so no chai for us though.

I loved planning our wedding. I missed planning an event. My friend is giving me the opportunity to help plan her wedding. I wish I could do this all day.

I've decided to send you back! We were listening to the CD and it brought us back. Surprise Surprise, Backstreet is back...touring with NKOTB. Sorry, not sure why it's so small...

This is our mailbox buddy. His house is on the corner of our mailbox. He's been with us for awhile now. I'm not sure if it's been a year, but at least 6 months. Usually we just see his legs sticking out of the corner, but this time he was completely out. Because he freaks me out a little, I just tap the mailbox until he runs back inside.

My life: Random

{Photo by me}

I'm having a difficult time with this 365 project. I have a hard time figuring out what to take a picture of. Which usually leads to a completely random picture. So far, it's mainly been about food. I guess that's okay since I love food. I thought about focusing more on making this project more specific, but the more I thought about it, the more I didn't want to. I want it to be more about showing the pieces of my life, even if that does mean completely random photos. I just have to learn how to take better pictures.

I hate to say this, but it is a part of me. I'm addicted.

In September, I wrote about how we had our first plants that we were trying to keep alive. I love plants and flowers, but I have a problem with keeping them alive. To our surprise, it's still alive! Yay us!

Today, I made chocolate brownie cupcakes for my hubby's niece's birthday. I got to use the fancy icing gun I got for Christmas. Icing was good, cupcake could be improved. Next time.

Music Monday: Adele

Happy Monday! I love Adele's songs. I could play her album over and over. Enjoy.

Self Promotion

I seriously think this self promotional mailer, done by Camila Drozd is too cute.

Today was all about tradition and passing along family recipes. I got to learn and make "Mama's Bread". I still have to perfect it, but I'm happy the recipe can be passed along and shared.

He Touched Me & Made Me Whole

I just had to repost this from my friend Vasa's blog. One word can only describe this...beautiful...

It's now on replay for me. You guys did great.

I love pastels &  I love food. Therefore, it only made sense to paint a ceramic pastel colored cupcake at Color Me Mine.

I've been pretty hooked on this game on my phone; Wordfeud. It allows you to play against anyone else with a Verizon phone that has the app. It's basically scrabble. Not sure what the differences are though. Either way, some words don't seem real to me, but they work. Too bad they don't have an option to learn what the words mean. I have to look that up separately.

Who's on Wordfeud?

I meant to post this yesterday, but I  fell asleep when I got home and never really woke up until today. *sigh* I don't like the picture, but that's all I was really look at yesterday. =( Also, I think I've decided to stick to 365 photos instead of 360. Why change the project just because I started late right?

For our Christmas tree, I asked people what they were thankful for to make a bunch of thankful rings that we could decorate our tree with. Today we finally took down our tree, which gave me a chance to gather all the thank you rings and read them again. I think I may like us to keep this tradition and make sure we remember everything we're thankful for.

This is the result of a conversation I had with my hubby's nieces.
Sydney (Turning 3 in a week): "Umm...Auntie Kathy...what's up with the treats?"
Me: "Huh? What treats?"
Aleena (Just turned 4): "She means cookies."

I'm going to start working out and becoming more fit. These videos will have to do until our Insanity videos are up and running again on the server.

Music Monday: Mark Ronson

Happy Monday all!

This track has been on replay for about a week now for me. It makes me just want to dance around and forget about everything else. It also makes me miss my cousin Val.

Happy 1st Birthday Princess Mia! Although you couldn't have this cupcake that had a little bit of Kahlua in it, I was sure to taste test it for you and ensure that it was sufficient enough for your birthday.

P.S. Your mom did good. The cupcakes were delicious.

My current book list on my bedside table. I've already read The Mastery of Love, but it's still one of my favs.

Happy Birthday Miss Aleena! Note to self: Not a fan of marzipan frosting.

Project 360 - 1 of 360

So I've missed 5 days random days, so I'm turning the project into "Project 360". I'll be posting the first 4 pics today.
This picture isn't a good one, but it was taken quickly on my phone as we entered the Military Cemetery in Dixon. Uncle now rests in peace with the rest of our brave solders.

Project 365

My sister and friend started participating in their own Project 365. If you don't know what it is, it is where you take one picture every day for a year. A great way to document your life. I missed a week, but the urge to start my own is beginning to grow exponentially.

So...should I still do it? I think I may and just include it in my blog...

Lazy Saturday

Today has been a lazy one. One that was well needed. When I say lazy, I mean completely lazy. Sitting at the computer playing games, reading blogs, watching a movie, eating...just plain relaxing. At times I even felt useless because I never did anything productive. Either way, this was something I think I needed after all the craziness. Especially since tomorrow will be filled with setting up a birthday party and spending it with family.

Note to self: Don't forget to do this every now and then. Your body and mind deserves it.

Music Monday (Missed): TAPS

I missed Music Monday because that day was all about my uncle. His funeral service was in the morning, followed by a long procession to the National Cemetery in Dixon for a beautiful final burial service. Because my uncle served in the US Coast Guard, TAPS was played in his honor. So, although I missed Music Monday, I still want to post this in his honor.

My Non-Goals

As the first day of the year comes to a close, I realized that resolutions never really work with me. I was pretty inspired when I read this post from Bri on her blog Design Love Fest. Instead of making goals, she made non-goals to write down what to continue doing right and what she basically wants to stay the same. What a fantastic idea! Why focus on what you don't like and what you want to change when a new year comes along?

Looking back at 2010, I decided to take a stab at my own non-goals:

  1. This year, you and the hubby decided to cook more and get better at it. Although you could have cooked more, you did a great job starting off. Keep up the good work.
  2. You went to the SF Street Food Fest and discovered Foodspotting & other street food vendors. Which also led you to discover Off The Grid. Continue discovering new foods and taking pictures along the way.
  3. You found out that you aren't all that great in communication, but you handled it the best you could and tried to improve. You're doing great!
  4. Slowly but surely, you're beginning to find out what you want to do with your life, regarding work. Don't worry, you'll get there. Life is too short to work so hard for something you're not happy doing.
  5. You finally got to take your honeymoon with your hubby. It was fantastic! Although such a large trip can't happen all the time, don't stop traveling more. Even if that means just a small weekend trip to a different city a few hours away.
  6. You spent lots of time with family. Family is a huge priority. Never forget that.
  7. You began blogging more. It's quite refreshing. Keep it up!
